Hart House Theatre?s 2nd Annual U of T Film Festival Includes
Atom Egoyan?s Rarely Seen 1st Film
Film Fest Expands to 5 Nights & 2 Venues
Hart House Theatre presents the 2nd annual University of Toronto Film Festival from Wednesday, February 26th to Sunday, March 2nd.
Last year?s inaugural U of T Film Festival was 3 nights long and was contained entirely within Hart House Theatre. This year, a second venue has been added and, owing to a huge increase in submissions, the Festival has grown dramatically from 3 nights to 5 days.
Highlights of this 5 day long Festival include an eclectic collection of film and video shorts by up-and-coming U of T filmmakers and a tribute to internationally acclaimed video artist and recently deceased professor, Colin Campbell. Also featured are a big screen showing of Don McKeller?s TV cult classic Twitch City, as well as a collection of Canadian Film Centre shorts created by U of T grads, and Atom Egoyan?s rarely seen first film, Howard In Particular.
Wednesday through Saturday, all screenings are at Hart House Theatre (7 Hart House Circle, just NW of Wellesley and Queen?s Park). On the Festival?s final day, Sunday afternoon, a second venue has been added with the screenings taking place at the Innis Town Hall, (2 Sussex Ave., just SW of St. George & Bloor). Both venues are very close to the subway, on U of T campus.
Admission on Thursday, February 27th is free. An All-day Pass for each other day is $8 and a Film Fest Pass for all 5 days is just $20.
